For one weekend on the 21st and 22nd of May 2011 in the UK we are bringing together the Vasyli Think Tank ‘Dream Team’ of Howard Dananberg, Trevor Prior, Jenny McConnell, Brian Hoke. COURSE DESCRIPTIONThe conference program has been designed to cover a wide range of bio-mechanically orientated conditions/injuries. Each speaker will give you their perspective, evaluation techniques and treatment regimes. There will be didactic lectures and associated practical sessions with patients. Interactive panel discussions and Q+A sessions.

Subject Matter will include:

* Howard Dananberg – ankle sprains, the roll of manipulations, chronic low back pain.

* Trevor Prior – medial tibial stress syndrome, Achilles tendinopathy.

* Jenny McConnell – patellofemoral pain syndrome, labral tears.

* Brian Hoke – metatarsalgia, differential diagnoses, leg length discrepancy.

Treatment regimes including mobilizations, taping, exercise, orthoses will be discussed, applied and evaluated.

CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES At the end of the activity, attendees will be able to:

✲ Explain significant advances in treatment and incorporate these into their practice as appropriate.

✲ Incorporate into their practice the latest strategies in the use of biomechanical managements and evidenced based practices.

✲ Explain and critically examine the literature pertaining to lower limb biomechanical principals.

✲ Describe and apprise the options in orthotic therapy and other modalities to treat lower limb overuse injuries.

✲ Appreciate the wide variety of specialist treatments available as well as understand when to treat and when to refer..

ACCREDITATION / CONTINUING EDUCATION POINTSThis event is approved for a maximum of 10 continuing medical education contact hours within Australia for Podiatrists. Approval from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons is pending. Approval from UK peak organizations is pending.
