COURSE DESCRIPTIONThe Save A Leg, Save A Life Foundation is a not for profit foundation who aim to reduce the number of lower extremity amputations and to improve the quality of life for our fellow citizens who are afflicted with wounds and complications of diabetes and peripheral arterial disease. These goals are accomplished by educating professionals, students and patients through advanced evidence based methods and through community outreach. The primary method of outreach is the community chapter model in which medical professionals, care givers, and patients can gather together to learn more about medical treatments available and options to prevent amputations.
It features a prominent multidisciplinary faculty that promotes the importance of every member of the team. The national conference is designed for health care practitioners of all specialties and promotes an evidence-based approach.
The Save a leg save a life foundation are proud to host this national conference in which world class and cutting edge medical education is presented to physicians, nurses, and health care providers from around the world to assist them in learning the most up-to-date information possible to improve patient outcomes.
CONFERENCE OBJECTIVESThis course will enhance the background, knowledge and skills of attendees in the science of lower limb medicine, diabetes and peripheral vascular disease. ACCREDITATIONThis activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint sponsorship of Memorial Hospital and Wound Summit Outreach, Inc. dba Save A Leg, Save A Life Foundation. Memorial Hospital is accredited by the Florida Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
Memorial Hospital designates this live activity for a maximum of 23 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits and 27 ASRT credits. Physicians should claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
CME points may be claimed for viewing this event ether LIVE or ON DEMAND. CME points may be claimed up until and no later than October 2012.
The Royal Australian College of Surgeons is currently reviewing this conference for CPD. It is envisaged that Fellows who participate may claim one point per hour (maximum 17 points) in Category 4: Maintenance of Clinical Knowledge and Skills towards 2011 CPD totals.
